From 1933 to 1976, Franke & Heidecke (Rollei) produced the Rolleicord, a medium-format twin lens reflex camera. Amateur photographers who wanted a high-quality camera but were unable to afford the expensive Rolleiflex were able to purchase a simpler, less expensive version of the high-end Rolleiflex TLR.
